Assessing the Impact of Waste Segregation & Recycling Behavior
Project Overview
In Surat, our project focused on raising awareness around sanitation and fostering positive behavioral changes regarding cleanliness and waste management. Community engagement was a key component, with outreach programs, workshops, and campaigns designed to involve households, businesses, and local stakeholders extensively.
Our Contribution & Impact
Through targeted Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) and Behavior Change Communication (BCC) strategies, residents were educated on the importance of waste segregation, recycling, and responsible waste disposal practices. These efforts led to increased public participation in municipal waste management initiatives and improved adherence to guidelines.
The project's thorough assessment of existing programs identified areas for enhancement and provided key recommendations. By cultivating a strong sense of collective responsibility, the initiative contributed significantly towards creating a cleaner, healthier urban environment in alignment with the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
